Punta del Este



Punta del Este is a peninsula city located at the southern tip of Uruguay, one of the most important resorts of South America, and consequently the most important tourist spot of the republic. It is located on a narrow strip of land dividing the waters of the Rio de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a permanent population of 19,263 inhabitants according to the 2009 census but in summer the population can exceed 200,000, and a floating population of tens of times higher. Its beaches are divided into Mansa and Brava.
